State Fair

When first hired to photograph the Alaska State Fair in 2021, I thought to myself: 'Wow,1955 just called and they want their fair back!' Experiencing this festival in Palmer, Alaska was like stepping back to a time when America was mostly rural and children looked forward to competing for the biggest vegetables, the tastiest slices of pie and the fattest chickens. Add in the world’s largest cabbages, never ending daylight and snow capped mountains and you have what may be the very best state fair in the nation.
